In 2014 we set about resurrecting the Shed End at Stafford Rangers’ Marston Road Ground. A small band of committed fans set about bringing the beating heart back to the fans of a once great club! The determination since then has been there for all to see.
Nearly 18 months after the inception of the idea and clearance form the club’s board of directors, we gained planning permission. Fund raising has been a constant in our lives and so has chasing elusive big sponsors. That is what we really need to get things off the ground. Our initial target was over £80k for the full structure, however since then we have amended plans, taken various advice and cut the project into 3 phases. The most immediate plans see us aiming to build a 36 metre centre section of covered standing area, where fans will again keep dry and generate an atmosphere around this famous old ground. A propped cantilever canopy with metal cladding that would cover from the rear of the terrace right to the front perimeter fence. Cleared, compliant and safe for our fans to gather and bring the backing that could lift our team back to previous heady heights.
So, what do we need from you? We have various sponsorship deals on offer and these are all detailed on our website (link attached) for you to view. There is news on the history of the ground, club and willingness to succeed by the Shed End Team. The fans alone have raised over £30,000 in this time but we need companies to come forward to collectively raise around £20,000 to top up our fund, so we can get this stand up. Recognition and cover in the press, on our successful social media platforms – over 4,000 reach on facebook & over 10,000 on twitter – plus, of course the crowds that pass through the ground every week and all of our customers that see the ground from the rear windows of our very busy social club.
